TBTA Presenting New Musical
Based On A Timeless Classic
BROOKFIELD â The Brookfield Theatre for the Arts (TBTA) is offering a production of an exhilarating new musical Little Women, with music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and book by Allan Knee. Curtain is at 8 pm and the musical runs for three weeks.
Based on Louisa May Alcottâs famed semi-autobiographical novel, Little Women follows the coming of age of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March in Civil War America. This timeless tale of heartache and hope tells the story of Jo and her adventures with her sisters as she struggles to find her voice and make it heard for generations to come.
A powerful and inspiring musical, Little Women is the beloved story brought to life in an evening that will warm hearts and lift spirits. The classic story of seeking independence, supporting family, and pursuing dreams is as relevant today as it was almost two centuries ago.
The cast features Lori Mele of Middlebury, Caitlin Kuhfeldt of Brookfield, Zoe Destories of Newtown, Jillian Wipfler of Southbury, Jude Callirgos of Redding, Keith Johnson of Avon, Mark Chisholm and Elie Finkelstein of Danbury, and Billy Hicks and Bill Lamoureux of New Milford.
The Brookfield production is being directed by Alicia Dempster and musically directed by Joanne Archibald, both of Danbury. Stephanie Skrok of Washington and Sammy Panzarino of Danbury are serving as producers.
Amanda Steinmetz of New Fairfield is stage managing and Brian Casella of Brookfield is Sound Designer. The set has been designed by Alicia Dempster, with Ted Burtt of Norwalk as master carpenter.
Performances of Little Women continue Friday and Saturday evenings through November 22 at 8 pm, and also on Sunday, November 16, at 2 pm. General admission for all seats is $20, and reservations are requested by calling 775-0023.
Dinner & Show Packages are available for $45, which covers dinner at Baileyâs Backyard of Brookfield (glass of wine, salad, three choices for entree, dessert and coffee) and a ticket to the show. Reservations are made through the TBTA box office, also 775-0023.
