The Work Is Just Beginning
The Work
Is Just Beginning
To the Editor:
I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Newtownâs Third District. As the results stand today, the voters have entrusted to me with a seat on the Legislative Council. If I am sworn in, I pledge to take that trust very seriously by working to keep Newtown a great place to call home. During the campaign, I spoke with numerous voters who expressed many of the same concerns I have with the direction of Newtownâs development. We all want exceptional schools, managed growth, and a Fairfield Hills that can be enjoyed by all residents for generations to come. I pledge to do my part on the council to make these things happen. I will use my influence to see that projects are well planned, meet their intended goals, and are financed with regard for the taxpayer.
I would also like to thank the many people who supported my candidacy including all those who wrote letters to The Bee on my behalf. I would especially like to thank my wife, Tanya, and my two children, Bradley and Greta, who tolerated the weekend campaign activities and the numerous meetings that went late into the night on many occasions.
The campaign is officially over but the real work is just beginning. I encourage all Newtowners to say connected to their town by participating in council meetings (and the many other boards and commissions that comprise our government) and express your opinions. The success of our government is proportional to the amount guidance it receives from its constituents.
