Shelley Dominko O’Neill

Compassionate And Loving To All

Shelley Dominko O’Neill, 55, of Newtown, died unexpectedly November 12.

She is survived by her parents, Carmel O’Neill of Newtown and Joseph Dominko of Hanover, N.H.; her brother, Stephen, of Washington, N.H.; her sister, Terri, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews, to whom she was a loving and doting aunt.

Ms O’Neill received a BA in theater at the University of Oregon, and went on to receive a master’s degree as a clinical nurse specialist from Pace University. She spent most of her career working with people with disabilities at Fairfield Hills in Newtown, Southbury Training School, and various State of Connecticut facilities.

She was recognized many times over the years for her compassion for her clients and devotion to her job, and received several awards for her outstanding contributions in her field.

Ms O’Neill had great enthusiasm and love for the performing arts. She appeared in many theatrical productions at the Richter in Danbury and the Polka Dot Playhouse in Bridgeport, as well as other regional theaters.

In keeping with family tradition, private services and interment were held in Washington, N.H.
