Greens & Gardening Books At Garden Club's Annual Sale, December 2-3
Greens & Gardening Books At Garden Clubâs Annual Sale, December 2-3
The Garden Club of Newtown will continue the celebration of its 50th anniversary with its annual greens sale the first weekend in December. The event will be presented at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.
There will be wreaths, swags, roping, mailbox decorations, table arrangements and many other items to be used in decorating the home for the holiday season. Members of the club will use dried flowers from their gardens along with other seasonal trims and freshly cut evergreens to design special items for the sale.
Noted Newtown garden author Sydney Eddison will be signing her latest book, Gardens to Go â Creating and Designing a Container Garden on Saturday. Her book with beautiful photographs will make a wonderful gift for anyone who enjoys a terrace or patio garden or would like to learn how to create or improve their own patio area next summer.
A special raffle item, a one-night stay at the new Dana-Holcombe Inn, will be offered with tickets at $5 each. The beautifully decorated bed and breakfast at 29 Main Street â next to the meeting house where the garden club event is being presented â is owned by Jane and John Vouros and is the latest addition to beautiful Main Street.
The Greens Sale will begin on Friday, December 2, and run from 1 to 5 pm. It will continue on Saturday, December 3, from 9 am to 2 pm.
