NCCB To Present Two Performances Of ‘Nutcracker Suite’ On Edmond Town Hall Stage

Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet & Voice will once again present The Nutcracker Suite as part of the annual Holiday Festival supporting Newtown Youth and Family Services.

Shows are Sunday, December 3, at noon and 2 pm, at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

Tickets can be purchased as part of the larger Holiday Festival package or separately for $12 online or $15 at the door. Visit newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org for tickets and further info.

This year’s show is the first Nutcracker for the studio following its expansion earlier this autumn.

“It was so nice having the extra space to have the full cast at the studio to rehearse the show in costume,” said NCCB Director Tory Gozzi. “We had the room to really bring everyone together and make sure all the costumes and props and dancers were where they needed to be.

“The space to host these rehearsals makes the show day so much easier for quick costume changes of the older company members and for adding the younger students into the rehearsal process without having to go elsewhere to bring everyone together,” she added.

Notable roles include Clara being played by Vivien Vass of Bridgewater, The Snow Queen played by Newtown High School junior Lillian Caico, Dew Drop Fairy played by Newtown High School junior Molly Tinkler, and Sugar Plum Fairy played by New Milford High School senior Olivia Pouder.

Also of note, audience members will get to witness the studio’s brand new magical Christmas tree which grows, to the delight of audiences, each year as the magic of the Nutcracker tale unfolds.

“NCCB student Zoë Shapiro’s dad Gene spearheaded the effort to give us a brand new tree without losing any of the history or beauty of our original tree,” Gozzi said. “The tree is the centerpiece of the show and we can’t wait for audiences to see his fantastic new creation.”
