Snapshot: Tim Hoeffel
Family: My wife Lauren, and our children Owen and Olivia.
Pets: We have a dog named Cooper, but he’s called Baba Booy, and a cat, Nala.
How did you meet your wife? We met at a local establishment, a great one that’s no longer there.
How long have you lived in Newtown? 40+ years. I was away for a few years at school, but otherwise I’ve been here.
Work: I am a senior safety specialist for ASML in Wilton.
Are you a member of any organizations, clubs and/or communities of faith? I’ve been a member of Newtown Hook & Ladder for over 20 years, although I’ve taken a back seat since I had kids. I do more business functions now, but I may go back and join fully when they’re older. It really was an awesome part of my life. I’ve met a lot of awesome people there and developed a lot of great relationships there.
Favorite music genre? I like live music of any type. I’m a big Dave Matthews fan, and a big OAR fan, but I really like all sorts of music.
Favorite TV show? I get stuck on a lot of Netflix series. If I start watching them, they suck me in.
If you could spend the day with one person, living or deceased, who would you choose and why? My grandfather on my mother’s side. I didn’t get a ton of time with him. The time I did have was good and short. I was just coming of age when he died, and I’d just started to get to know him. It would be cool to go back and spend a day with him.
What is something you cannot live without? My wife, absolutely, and our children. I also like good conversations, and meeting people.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? I like to go on any body of water — Lake Zoar, Candlewood, Lake George.
What is your favorite thing about Newtown? I believe people are genuinely nice, and I think Newtown shows that.
Do you have a personal credo? Do the right thing, even when no one’s watching.
