On Saturday, November 22, members of Newtown’s volunteer fire companies hosted the 23rd Annual Fill The Fire Truck event. During this event, members of the companies collect food donations for local organization FAITH Food Pantry. The event takes place the week before Thanksgiving every year to help families before the big feast.

Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Company members were at the south entrance of Stop & Shop with a cart full of turkeys and other food items that were donated for the 23rd Annual Fill The Fire Truck for FAITH Food Pantry event. Members from Botsford Fire Rescue were also outside Stop & Shop at Sand Hill Plaza. Together, the community donated 63 boxes of food, 64 turkeys, and $1,590 in cash and gift cards.
