A Holiday Gathering Is Returning To Stacey Olszewski’s Home

After moving away from its original location for two sessions, A Holiday Gathering is returning to its home: The home of Stacey Olszewski, the creator of the holiday showcase of fine arts and crafts by regional artisans. The fifth annual A Holiday Gathering… at Home will return to 4 Old Green Road in Sandy Hook over the weekend of December 5-7.

The special event be open on Friday, December 5, from noon to 5 pm; Saturday, December 6, from 9 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, December 7, 10 am to 4 pm.

It will feature fine hand-crafted gifts, collectibles and gift baskets from more than a dozen area artists. Among the offerings will be painted bowls, boards and containers; Santa painted on driftwood from Lake Lillinonah; quilling and folk art; Goatboy Soaps, photography, ornaments, bark candy, felted handbags, hand carved heirlooms, handmade jewelry, handmade shawls, and American Girl-size doll clothing.

Artists planning to participate include, in addition to Mrs Olszewski, Neal Blodgett, Basil Hanna, Teresa Hicks, Rob Johnson, Theresa LeFevre, Pat Martin, Chris Raissis and Melissa Sorentino.

Even Mrs Olszewski’s children are involved in A Holiday Gathering. Brian and Daniel will return with their popular marshmallow shooters, and Megan will have homemade dog cookies and wine glass charms.

Mrs Olszewski is a practicing artisan, the owner of Old Green Road Crafts. She is the creator of A Holiday Gathering, which debuted in 2005 at her home and has grown exponentially each year since. She has also been branching out during the past year, organizing crafts shows in and around Newtown including the recent 17th Annual Festival of Crafts in Brookfield.
