Holiday Bazaar & Tea

DANBURY — The Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 43 Main Street, will have one ongoing event as well as a one-day special event for the public this holiday season.

The museum’s second annual Holiday Bazaar will open Saturday, November 29, and will be open each Tuesday through Saturday until December 20 from 10 am to 4 pm. Located within the museum’s Huntington Hall, the event highlights the handiwork of area craftspeople and also provides shoppers with a unique chance to shop in the recently expanded Museum Gift Shop. Together with Simple Pleasures of Danbury, and area crafters and artisans, the museum will offer handmade items, Danbury jewelry, Byers Choice carolers, quilted purses, Boyd’s resin figurines, holiday tree ornaments, hand knitted hats, and more.

There is no admission charge.

On Saturday, December 13, the museum will host its Holiday Tea. This event will be presented at the museum’s 1785 Rider House, also at 43 Main Street. Hot tea, savories and sweets will all be offered, and guests will also be treated to soothing music and the opportunity to chat with museum staff about tea traditions and customs. Seatings will be between noon and 2:30 pm and 3 and 4:30 pm.

Cost for the tea is $25 per person, and reservations are required. Call the museum, 743-5200, for a reservation to the tea or additional information about the holiday bazaar.
