Lighting The Way To A Cure
Lighting The Way To A Cure
To the Editor:
Thank you friends, families, and local businesses for all you have done to support the Light the Night Walk held throughout Connecticut. The fourth annual Danbury walk alone raised $39,000! The five walks held in Connecticut are expected to raise a grand total of over $555,000!
This national fundraiser is a major part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyâs goal to find a cure for blood cancers. Over 73 percent of the money raised will go directly to research and patient programs. To date the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has invested more than $600 million in research, $ 71.4 million in fiscal year 2008 alone! With your help, we will find a cure!
A special thanks to Dr Baum located on Church Hill Road, who helped raise awareness as well as contributions for Gregâs Group. His staff was very helpful and kind. Gregâs Group alone raised $6,000 for the fight for a cure. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We are thankful for living in Newtown.
Sincerely yours,
Ginny Chion
