On Saturday, November 15, Walnut Tree Village Phases I & II hosted its First Annual Food Drive, inviting all residents to participate by placing donations at their front doors. Members of the Club House Committee spent the afternoon collecting contributions. Joined by friends and neighbors to check all items for expiration dates, sort, and box for delivery to FAITH Food Pantry, it was a festive afternoon enjoyed by everyone.

Four members of the Newtown High School boys’ basketball team volunteered to help load a pickup truck and an SUV with the donated goods. Once at FAITH Food Pantry the boys not only helped unload the Walnut Tree Village donations but also assisted others making donations.

A special contribution was made to FAITH Food Pantry at the Congregational Church in memory of Catherine Sullivan, a longtime resident of Walnut Tree Village who recently passed away. Cathy was an active member of the church and a generous supporter of its food pantry. The donation honored her years of dedication.
