Mirrors Collided

Newtown Police report Carolyn Keller, 57, of Middlebury, operating a 2017 Subaru Legacy, was traveling eastbound on Taunton Hill Road at 4:01 pm November 13. An unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Taunton Hill Road. As the vehicles passed each other, the mirrors of each vehicle struck each other. The unknown vehicle then left the scene.

No injuries were reported. Keller’s vehicle was not towed.

Collision In Driveway

Newtown Police report Antonio Porter, 35, of Ware, Mass., operating a 2021 HINO L6-21 box truck, was backing southbound into a driveway on Head of Meadow Road at 4:25 pm November 20. An unoccupied 2018 BMW X5 owned by Amy Lyddy of Newtown was parked in the driveway. Porter’s vehicle made contact with Lyddy’s.

No injuries were reported. Neither vehicle was towed.

No enforcement action was taken since the incident occurred on private property.

Struck Animal

Newtown Police report Sergey Tsurkan, 56, of Brookfield, operating a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, was traveling northbound on Hawleyville Road at 6:13 pm November 23. An animal, possibly a small dog, ran into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. Following the collision, the animal ran away.

Tsurkan was not injured. The vehicle was not towed.

No enforcement action was taken.
