Lyme Expert To Speak Dec. 10
WILTON â Steven E. Phillips, MD, an internist specializing in Lyme disease, will address the Wilton Lyme Disease Support Group on Wednesday, December 10, at 7:30 pm.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr Phillips is researching the relationship between Lyme and inflammatory diseases.
Published on Lyme disease in prestigious medical journals such as Infection and the American Medical Journal, Dr Phillips has been an outspoken advocate for Lyme patients. He has served as a Lyme disease expert for the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York, and has just been elected president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society.
Dr Phillips plans to discuss Lyme and its potential relationship to other illness. He will also provide a PowerPoint presentation complete with electron microscope pictures of the Lyme bacteria isolated from patients with a range of autoimmune diseases.
