Robert Leibold
Robert Arthur Leibold, Jr, of Ludlow, Mass., passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born in Danbury on June 12, 1948. He grew up in Newtown, and graduated from Newtown High School in 1966, and then Western Connecticut State University in Danbury with a bachelor’s degree.
Robert managed many Agway stores in Massachusetts. He worked numerous years in the automotive parts industry. Before moving to Ludlow in 2006, he lived in Three Rivers, Mass., for 30 years.
Robert was a quiet, gentle man except when rooting for his favorite teams: Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves and New York Giants. Bob was an avid reader especially of history. He was a great admirer of John Wayne and knew his movies’ dialog verbatim. Anyone who knew Bob will sadly miss him.
Robert leaves his wife, Melanie (Ruscoe) of 54 years; a son, Sean, of Connecticut, along with two grandchildren, Tyler and Abigail, also of Connecticut; a brother, William (Pamela) of Newtown; a sister, Karen (Gerry) Heyde of New Milford; and a niece, Dianne Ferris of Mass.
Bob was predeceased by Robert A. Leibold Sr in 1996.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, from 1-3:30 pm, at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral, in Palmer, Mass., followed by a time of sharing memories at 3:30 pm. A graveside service will take place in April at Newtown Village Cemetery in Newtown.
