Occupation: I’m the director of account management at Curtis Packaging in Sandy Hook. One of the fun things I get to do is work with the town on the luminaria project each year for the Ram Pasture tree lighting. I coordinate getting the luminarias manufactured and shipped to the town.

Family: My husband, Tim, and I have been married for 17 years. We have a 14-year-old son, Justin. He’s an eighth grader at Rochambeau Middle School in Southbury. I have a stepdaughter, Katrina, who is married to Ricky, and they have our lovely little grandson, Landon. Landon is 10 months old. I love watching my son be an uncle to him.

Pets: We have a dog, Holly, that is a mix. And we have a cat, Buttons. Both are rescues, and Holly would have me tell you she is the queen of the house.

How long have you been here? I moved to Newtown with my family in 1987, when I was in the eighth grade, and stayed until 1997, right before I got married. I graduated from Newtown High School in 1992. My parents, Ed and Jean, still live here. I’ve worked at Curtis Packaging for 25 years. I started there when I was in high school. There are a lot of good people there.

What do you like to do in your free time? I spend a lot of time chauffeuring my son around. He’s an avid baseball player, so we spend a lot of time driving to training, practices, and games. I love to take pictures, and I love to be outside, especially doing photography in the woods. I do craft projects, and I do like to read.

Do you have a favorite book? I’m a huge Twilight fan, and I probably shouldn’t admit it. I’ve probably read each one of the books in the series five times.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? Definitely Martha’s Vineyard. That’s my favorite. I love everything about it, and taking pictures there. The vineyard offers many opportunities for sunsets and lighthouses, to do such. It’s nice to sit on the beach and just listen to the waves.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I would say it’s got a nice, small town charm. But you still have many opportunities of a larger town, like shopping, restaurants, and things like that.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? It’s my parents. It’s about not being able to appreciate the things done for you, or not understanding how much they did for you, until you’re older. They made a lot of sacrifices for my brother and me. They taught us to be good people and to have good values, and I try to pass that on to our son.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you choose? Probably, I would go back to the middle school years. Knowing what I know now, I’d make better choices, and try a little harder at school.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Watching those Twilight movies; and I’m a coffeeaholic. I love a good toasted almond coffee, like the one from Dunkin’ Donuts.
