Childrenâs Programs
*Gingerbread Workshop: Come decorate your own gingerbread house with royal icing and festive candies. A special workshop will be held on Saturday, December 13, at 3 pm, in the libraryâs lower meeting room. A $3 material fee is due upon registration. Sign up in the childrenâs department. Phone registrations will not be accepted.
*The Return of Rabbi Praver: Rabbi Praver is returning with his guitar and talent to C.H. Booth Library on Sunday, December 14, at 3 pm, for an hour of Israeli and American folk music for children ages 4 to 7. The program is free and no registration is required.
*Booth Players To Perform: The C.H. Booth Players theatrical group, under the direction of Leland Kellogg, will perform its unique interpretation of the 12th Century morality play Everyman on Saturday, December 20, at 11 am, in the libraryâs Olga Koepkne Meeting Room. The setting is a modern day circus, and the message is appropriate for the season.
The performance is recommended for ages 6 and older. Admission is free and open to the public.
Young Adults
*Chill With Will: Professional actress and teacher Leland Kellogg of Newtown will bring Shakespeare to life through various levels of multimedia in âChill With Will: A Young Adults Shakespeare Workshop.â Young adults will write and star in their own Shakespeare movie short, and turn Shakespeareâs sonnets into TV commercials.
The five-session workshop will meet on Fridays, January 9 to February 6. The group will meet from 2 to 5 pm for the first four weeks. The workshop will culminate with a Friday evening performance at the library (snow date February 13).
The workshop is geared for students in grades 7 and above, and is limited to 15 participants. Cost is $75, payable at sign-up; call the library or visit the main floor circulation desk.

*1854 Newtown Maps: One of the libraryâs beautiful historical maps of Newtown has been reproduced by the Friends of The C.H. Booth Library and can be yours for $40. The 1854 map measures 24 by 30 inches and is printed on 100% cotton rag. It features several familiar Newtown landmarks including homes, businesses, and churches.
