Open House And Puppet Play

At Waldorf School

On Saturday, December 13, at 10 am, the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School will host an open house and puppet play at its campus on Route 302 in Newtown.

Participants will experience the unique Waldorf classrooms, meet teachers, and learn about the curriculum for nursery and kindergarten through grade 8. The Early Childhood teachers will perform a puppet show, The Star Money, based on a Grimms fairy tale. The Open House will close at noon.

Founded in 1919, Waldorf education is a worldwide N-12 school movement fostering academic excellence and creativity through whole-child learning. Its unique, arts-based developmental approach incorporates different learning styles and a non-competitive, supportive environment.

Two foreign languages are taught from first grade on, and all students learn the pentatonic flute, recorder and string instruments over the course of the grade school.

Admission is free; reservations are recommended. For reservations, information or direction call 364-1113.
