Chrisopher K. Kerin, CCIM, MAI, of Wilson Commercial Real Estate, has joined two others in his firm to become one of just 63 members of CCIM in Connecticut.

Mr Kerin is a resident of Newtown.

Mr Kerin, a broker, appraiser and vice president of Wilson Commercial, this month was awarded the CCIM designation following successful completion of an eight-hour examination. He is one of only six state residents to receive the designation this year.

CCIM stands for Certified Commercial Investment Member of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, an arm of the National Association of Realtors. To become a CCIM, individuals must have brokered at least $30 million in commercial transactions, undertaken 240 hours of classroom work and sat for the national examination in financial, market and decision analysis for commercial real estate.

Leland R. Wilson, CCIM, president of Wilson Commercial, said, “We are proud of Chris’s achievement. CCIMs are recognized as the best in the business and an invaluable resource to the real estate investor and business property user. With Chris’s receipt of the CCIM designation, our firm’s leadership corps – all CCIMs  – is especially well equipped to provide superior consulting and brokerage services to those who require advanced expertise in planning and packaging complex commercial transactions.

Mr. Kerin joined Wilson Commercial in May. He is a graduate in finance of the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in real estate and urban economic studies. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Appraisal Institute and the Connecticut and National Associations of Realtors.
