Sacred Heart University Plans Open House

DANBURY — The Danbury Campus of Sacred Heart University at Immaculate High School will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, January 4. Sacred Heart offers classes ranging from accounting to contemporary philosophy for adults interested in accelerated degree offerings.

Sacred Heart’s University College offers programs for adult part-time students and is the only accredited University to offer these fast-track degree programs in Danbury through their AHEAD curriculum.

“Sacred Heart offers a variety of part-time programs designed specifically for adults with busy lives,” said Stephen Brown, Dean of Sacred Heart University’s University College. “Whether you’re seeking a new career, wanting to complete your degree, looking to brush up on the latest trends or want additional training, we will work with you to design a program that meets your needs.” The AHEAD program is designed specifically for the working adult interested in completing a degree in a realistic time frame.

Sacred Heart’s University College degree programs take many forms. The university not only offers associate, baccalaureate and master’s degree programs, but it also is the only university in Danbury to offer an accelerated degree program, known as AHEAD, where students can earn a business administration, finance or international business degree in about one half the time of a traditional part-time program. Previous college experience is not needed to register for AHEAD, but credits earned can be applied to a degree completion program.

Registration is open now for spring classes, which start January 12. The open house at Immaculate High School on Tuesday, January 4 will be from 5 to 7 pm. All classes meet from 5:45 to 10 pm at Immaculate High School, 73 Southern Boulevard, Danbury.

The University offers a variety of payment options to help students with tuition costs, including direct billing through employers, Employers Tuition Reimbursement Program, deferred payment plans and also through a newly available College Card. For more information call 800/367-2369.

Sacred Heart University main campus is located in Fairfield but also offers classes in Danbury, Derby, Shelton and Stamford. For more information on the AHEAD programs, contact Ed Donato or Nancy Sidoti at 203/371-7830 or University College at 888/748-3381.
