Miroslav Cervinek

A Magical Life

Miroslav “Miro” Cervinek, 74, of Nunnawauk Meadows, died December 13, at The Connecticut Hospice, Branford.

Mr Cervinek immigrated to the United States from Czech Republic in 1965 and was a longtime Newtown resident. He was well-liked in the community and a friend to countless residents.

A world-class maitre d’, Mr Cervinek had a reputation as a man most happy seeing others enjoy themselves in the fine restaurants in which he worked. A master magician and a longstanding member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, he performed in many countries as “Ramigo.” Until the time of his passing, Mr Cervinek was still performing for those who were caring for him.

He was an avid soccer fan, and he delighted in the sport as only a true sportsman and gentleman can. Mr Cervinek requested that his ashes be spread on a soccer field.

Mr Cervinek is survived by his daughter, Monica Hill and her husband, Mark, of Newtown; and also by his best friend and caregiver, Tibor Bizer of Brookfield.

There will be no formal funeral service. Private cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
