On Saturday, December 13, Newtown Parks & Recreation Department sponsored the annual “Breakfast with Santa” event at Newtown Middle School. The breakfast featured bagels, donuts, hot chocolate, juice, milk, and holiday goodies. The guest of honor was Santa Claus, who gave each child a special bag of treats for being “nice” during the year. Hearts of Hope provided a “Paint with a Purpose Party” for the children. There was also an arts and crafts table where holiday decorations could be created. Guests were asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.

Santa spent time with dozens of other children and listened to their Christmas wishes, played his guitar, and sang holiday songs, too.
