Families United in Newtown (FUN) kicked off the holiday season with joy, music, and community connection at its annual Holiday Party held on Saturday, December 6 at Newtown High School.

For the 13th year, Clown “Pepper” and her talented Brazilian friends filled the room with festive energy, dazzling families with music and entertainment delivered in the lively holiday flair that has become a beloved tradition for the organization.

Children, teens, and adults with special needs — and their families — were treated to an afternoon of dancing, games, and hands-on activities designed to bring everyone together.

Guests enjoyed holiday music, dancing, limbo, face painting, pizza, and an array of delicious desserts. Attendees also decorated their own ornaments to take home, creating keepsakes to remember the joyful afternoon.

The event was made possible through the efforts of Newtown High School National Honor Society and student volunteers, and an “army” of dedicated adult volunteers who transformed the space and ensured every detail contributed to a magical holiday kick-off.

“FUN was truly had by all,” organizers shared. “This event captures what Families United in Newtown is all about — belonging, inclusion, and shared joy.”

Families United in Newtown is now in its 16th year of providing social, emotional, and community-building experiences for individuals with special needs and their families.
