Expresses Gratitude For Donations
To The Editor:
To all our volunteers, donors and managers and owners of the local stores — You did it — and we couldn’t be more grateful! On behalf of everyone at The Salvation Army, thank you for lending your time, heart, and energy during our December Red Kettle drive. Your dedication brought joy, hope, and inspiration to our community, one ring at a time. This was a cold but very successful collection. The funds you helped raise will be managed by the Newtown Social Services Department and shared with families in our community.
Because of your cheerful spirit and welcoming smile, neighbors were encouraged to give generously — and as a result lives will be impacted. We appreciate those of you who braved the cold and sang out a friendly “thank you,” you spread the message of compassion far and wide. Every hour you devoted helped us raise much-needed support for food, shelter, heat, and other emergency assistance for those who need it most.
We are so thankful to have amazing support like you! The sound of the bell is more than a symbol — it’s a rallying cry for kindness and hope, fueled by your selfless service. Together, we are making our community stronger every day.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being the heart and soul of our mission. We can’t wait to ring in more hope with you again in 2026 during our July and December Red Kettle collections.
