Boys’ Basketball Teams Defeats NFA, Edged By Darien And Stratford

Newtown High School’s boys’ basketball team began the season with a 75-61 win over visiting Norwich Free Academy on December 18, then fell 56-51 to visiting Darien on December 20 before hitting the road to take on Stratford and losing 44-35 on December 22.

In the win over NFA, Aidan Walker hit four 3-pointers and scored 30 points, Teddy Moxham and Emmet Regan both scored 11, Fletcher Snayd had eight, and Quinn Velez and Luke Stewart both scored five.

Against Darien, Walker drained another four 3-pointers and finished with 30 points, and Snayd, who hit a trio of 3s, and Moxham both scored 11. In the Stratford game, Snayd scored eight, Walker seven, and Marcus Gerace dropped in five.

The Nighthawks will host Wilton Saturday, December 27 at 2 pm and will visit Northwestern Tuesday, December 30 at 6 pm.
