HARTFORD â The Connecticut Judicial Branch announced a statewide student essay contest designed to celebrate Thurgood Marshall Black History Month.
The topic for this yearâs contest is the following: âThurgood Marshall is widely recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in the pursuit of equality and justice. How has his legacy impacted your life?â
All Connecticut high school seniors are invited to participate. Each essay must be received by January 14 and must be typed, double-spaced, and must not exceed 300 words.
Students interested in participating must send their completed essays to: Thurgood Marshall Committee, c/o the External Affairs Division, Connecticut Judicial Branch, 231 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.
