Police report that someone sometime between 2 and 9 am December 20 threw a large rock through the rear window of a motor vehicle parked in a private driveway on Scenic View Road. The incident caused an estimated $200 in damage.

Turf Damage
Police report that on learning there was a warrant for his arrest, Mark Kane, 25, of Charlestown, Mass, turned himself in to police December 24, surrendering on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief in connection with turf damage at Newtown Country Club. The charge involves more than $6,000 of damage done to the golf course November 25 by a motor vehicle. After posting a $250 bond, Kane was released for a January 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Berkshire Road
Motorist Nathaniel Hopkins , 23, of 10 Grayâs Plain Road, Sandy Hook, was driving a 1991 Chrysler LeBaron eastbound on Berkshire Road about 3 pm December 21 when the right front tire on the Chrysler blew out, causing Hopkins to lose control, go off the road and strike two mailboxes. Hopkins was not injured, police said. Police issued him an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Three-Car Crash
Police report a three-car accident on South Main Street about 4:15 pm December 26.
Motorist Joseph F. Kearns, 44, of Northborough, Mass., who was driving a 1996 Subaru Legacy southbound, was stopped and waiting to turn left into the Fireside Inn, police said.
Southbound motorist Jennifer A. Lynch, 21, of Danbury, who was driving a 1995 Saturn SLI, was behind the Subaru, police said.
Southbound motorist Nancy Manto Pansiuk, 42, of 14 Castle Hill Road, who was driving a 1997 GMC Jimmy, hit the rear end of the Saturn, pushing the Saturn into the Subaru, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Pansiuk an infraction ticket on a charge of following too closely.
Dodge Vs Deer
Police report motorist Paul F. Niedmann, 45, of Dade City, Florida, was driving a 1991 Dodge pickup truck northbound on South Main Street about 11:25 pm December 17 when a deer ran into the truck. Niedmann was not injured.
South Main Collision
 Motorist Donna Bother, 44, of Danbury, was southbound on South Main Street in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix south of Greenbriar Lane about 12:04 pm December 20, when she slowed for traffic, police said.
 Southbound motorist Priscilla Hein, 32, of 9 Sealand Drive, who was driving a 1998 Dodge Stratus, struck the Pontiac from behind, police said.
There were no injuries. Police gave Hein a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police verbally warned Bother for failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
Toddy Hill Crash
Police report a three-car accident on Toddy Hill Road near Button Shop Road about 8 am December 21.
Motorist Lisa Staubly, 33, of 9 Newbury Road, who was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer, was stopped behind a line of vehicles which had stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the street, police said.
Motorist Lynda G. Plourde, 52, of Woodbury, who was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, was stopped behind the Ford, police said.
Motorist Emil J. Oechiboi, 38, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1991 Toyota Camry, then drove around a curve, spotted the stopped line of traffic and tried to avoid a collision, but could not, and struck the rear end of the Honda, pushing the Honda into the Ford, police said.
There were no injuries. No enforcement action was taken.
Dayton Street
Police report that sometime during the early morning hours of December 27, someone broke the rear window of a car parked on Dayton Street in Sandy Hook Center and stole a cellular telephone from the car.
South Main DWI
Police said at about 12:20 am December 25 they stopped a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant driven by Mario A. Torres, 38, of New Milford for a motor vehicle violation on South Main Street near Sand Hill Plaza. On investigating, police said they gave Torres field sobriety tests and later gave him breath analyzer tests.
Police charged Torres with driving while intoxicated and failure to obey traffic signs and markings. After processing, police released Torres on a promise to appear January 6 in Danbury Superior Court.

Drug Bust
Police report they arrested a New Milford man about 11 am December 22 on South Main Street on drug and motor vehicle charges. Police said they saw motorist Vincent A. Marini, 29, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and stopped him to investigate.
Police charged Marini with possession of heroin, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor with a suspended license, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Police said they held Marini on a $500 bond until he was arraigned on the charges that day in Danbury Superior Court.
Mile Hill Crash
Motorist Joan W. Nightingale, 65, of Seymour, who was driving a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300-D about 4 pm December 20, pulled out from Queen Street after stopping at stop sign there and collided with a 1987 Honda Civic which was westbound on Mile Hill Road, police said. Paul J. Bogdanski, 44, of Monroe drove the Honda, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said they issued Nightingale an infractions ticket on charges of failure to grant the right of way and failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
Church Hill Road
Police said they stopped motorist Larry J. Isler, 18, of 32 Bonnie Brae Drive about 9:30 pm December 22 on Church Hill Road for driving without headlights.
On investigating, police charged Isler with driving without headlights and possession of alcohol by a minor in a public place.
Police said they released Isler on a promise to appear in court January 6.
Boggs Hill Crash
Police report a two-car accident at the intersection of Boggs Hill Road and Head OâMeadow Road about 9:20 pm December 28.
Police said motorist Timothy S. McCloud, 16, of 6 Purdy Station Road, who was driving a 1989 Volvo 245 station wagon, was making a left turn from Head Oâ Meadow Road to go northbound on Boggs Hill Road, as motorist Alex Cameron-Braley, 18, of 14 Currituck Road was driving a 1988 BMW 535-i southbound on Boggs Hill Road.
The Volvo and BMW collided in the intersection, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued McCloud a written warning stating he failed to grant the right of way at an intersection.
