Nora M. Marion

Nora M. Marion, 86, resident of the Pope John Paul, II Center, Danbury, died December 23 in Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Marion.

She was the godmother of Dolores Whamond of Newtown.

She was born in Archbald, Penn. Dec. 31, 1912, daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget (Doran) Barnett. Mrs Marion was a graduate of Marywood University, Scranton, Penn. She received her master’s degree in education at Fordham University.

For over 20 years, she was a special education teacher in the West Babylon, N.Y. school system. Following retirement, she lived at 1925 McGraw Avenue in Bronx, N.Y.

She is also survived by a grandniece, Marie Siefring of Danbury, and several other grandnieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held December 28 from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown and in St Mary Church, 24 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel, for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Vahalla, N.Y.
