NJWC Beautiful Baby Contest Concludes

Newtown Junior Women’s Club has been sponsoring the 2009 NJWC Beautiful Baby Contest for about a month, and election season is in its final days.

Parents of children from toddler through age 3 were invited last month to submit a photo of their child for the competition, which costs $1 per vote. All money raised through the contest will be donated by NJWC to charities.

A voting booth has been displayed around town, making visits to Sand Hill Plaza for a number of nights, as well as visiting Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue’s LobsterFest last weekend. The voting booth returned to Stop & Shop this week, and will move on Saturday, June 13, to the temporary Relay For Life track at Fairfield Hills. Voting will continue until 7, and the winner will be announced about an hour later.

The winning child will get his or her photo published in The Newtown Bee, will be featured in the Newtown Labor Day Parade, and receive a family gift basket.
