DUI Arrest

Police said that motorist Patrick Lockwood, 33, of Bethel, who was driving a 1986 Ford Escort on Church Hill Road near a nighttime paving project at about 10:26 pm November 9, drove around some barriers that were positioned there to close off a road section for paving work.

Police said they investigated and gave Lockwood field sobriety tests, after which they charged him with driving under the influence.

Police held Lockwood on $1,000 bail for a November 10 court appearance.

Berkshire Road

Near 12 Berkshire Road at about 5:58 pm November 6, westbound motorist Joel DeMarco, 37, of Southbury, who was driving a 1987 Isuzu Trooper, passed to the right of westbound motorist Raymond Onidi, 59, of Shelton, who was driving a 1998 Dodge Stratus, resulting in a collision, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued DeMarco a written warning for passing on the right.

New Lebbon Road

Motorist Henry Washburn, 17, of 4 Skytop Drive, who was driving a 1997 Subaru Impreza station wagon westward on a wet New Lebbon Road at about 7:17 pm November 4, slid on the road, struck a rock along the eastbound shoulder, crossed back into the westbound lane and then went off the westbound side of the road, striking a tree, police said.

Neither Washburn, nor passenger Jake Rebb, 15, of 254 Berkshire Road, were injured, police said.

Police issued Washburn an infraction ticket for traveling unreasonably fast.
