Area Native Returning For Author Program

DANBURY — Danbury native Anjanette West will celebrate the release of her book, A Collection of Poetry from The Mind Heart Body and Soul, with a book signing event at Danbury Library.

She will be at the library on Saturday, May 20, from 1 to 3 pm.

Ms West is already at work on her second book, called Lord! Are you mad at me? and scheduled to be released in the fall. A resident of Charlotte, N.C., she is also working on her second novel.

Ms West attended St Joseph’s and Henry Abbott Technical School. From there she pursued a degree in fashion design from the International Fine Arts In Miami Florida.

She was nominated in 2004 for the International New Poet of the Year award. She currently works as a certified counselor for a Psychiatric Youth Treatment Facility in Charlotte North Carolina.
