Agility, one of the fastest growing canine sports for purebred dog owners, will be discussed on Saturday, November 8, from 10 am to 12 noon, at a two-hour seminar at Cassio Kennels, 173 Mount Pleasant Road.
The seminar, entitled âGetting Started In Agility,â will be presented by Canine Training & Behavior Services, LLC.
Nina Seturins, who teaches dog agility classes at the training center, will lead the seminar. For more than 10 years she has competed with her two beagles in both obedience and agility and recognizes that for the novice who would like to get into competition, it can be a confusing and overwhelming task.
Topics to be covered include: all aspects of getting ready for that first competition, the dogâs physical health, finding agility trials to compete in, the various titling associations and what is expected of competitors.
This instructional âpeople onlyâ seminar will be held indoors. Short videos of Seturinsâ Beagles competing at the Novice level will be shown. There will be handouts available and time for questions and answers.
The cost for the seminar will be $20 payable at the door. Advance registration is requested. For more information, registration and directions please contact Joy Brewster at Casssio Kennels at 203-426-2881.
