A Tribute To All Who Served
A Tribute To All Who Served
To the Editor:
On Monday, November 10, I had the privilege of being invited by Sergeant Carl Bergquist to the fourth annual Veteransâ Day Program at NHS. I would like to thank Assistant Principal Scott Clayton who was master of ceremonies for an excellent program.
We heard speeches from many of the staff at NHS who have served in many branches of the military. Dr Janet Robinson shared a story of her dad and his service to our country; and First Selectman Joe Borst talked about his career in the military.
The NHS Chamber Choir and NHS Band did an outstanding job with their musical selections honoring all our Vets. The NHS Guidance Honor Association mentioned each branch while veterans in the audience stood up with great rounds of applause from the students and guests. It was a touching ceremony, a tribute to all who have served and continue to serve.
With gratitude to all our servicemen and women,
Anna Wiedemann
