*All good Parrot Heads already know this, but just to make sure everyone’s on the same page: JIMMY BUFFETT will be returning to Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, June 29.

Tickets for the 7:30 pm show, part of the Party at The End of the World 2006 Tour, will be on sale Saturday morning beginning at 10 am through TicketMaster vendors. Prices have been set at $91, $176 and $251 apiece.

The box office at Mohegan Sun Arena will not be open for sales of Buffett tickets until Sunday, if any tickets remain at that point.

*Big, huge, wonderful news this week for fans of ZOX.

The band — Eli Miller, John Zox, Dan Edinberg and Newtown native Spencer Swain — has decided to sign with the Los Angeles-based indie label SideOneDummy Records, the same label that has been home to rock veterans like THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES and FLOGGING MOLLY as well as newer artists like PIEBALD, GOGOL BORDELLO and BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH, pointed out Eli in an email from the band’s HQ late last week.

SideOneDummy’s first action for Zox will be the re-release of the band’s sophomore album, The Wait, nationally in June.

Meanwhile, the band has stepped out on its first major national tour, “with shows from Boston to San Diego and back again, including a show with new labelmates Gogol Bordello,” wrote Eli. That tour will conclude with a set of shows in the Northeast in mid-April, including stops in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia.

The band will continue touring, however, and will be back in Connecticut, returning to Toad’s Place, on April 26.

Send some congratulatory emails and get all the information you could possibly want about these guys at their website, ZoxBand.com.

*The Webster Theater will have a dress code in effect for the SEAN PAUL show later this month. Tickets for the March 22 all-ages event, which are all $32, are still available.

Before that show, The Webster will host CityScape CT, a trance, house and techno music event, on March 11. You have to be at least 18 to attend.

Featured will be Mike Charles, DJ Plex, John Hunter, JJ Blades, Nate Sherwood and DJ Gyle; and there will be additional live percussion by Fubar of Muck Crew. Admission is $20, and the party starts at 8.

KC101’s Matt Hoopes Birthday Tour, featuring RELIANT K, THE ROCKET SUMMER and MAXEEN, will be March 24, and then SEVENDUST headlines on March 29.

New shows announced this week include KEYSHIA COLE, with Memy Ma, on April 9; FLYLEAF and REVELATION THEORY, sponsored by WCCC, on April 15; BUCKCHERRY, also being sponsored by WCCC, on April 20; and MONTY, formerly of Monty’s Fan Club, and Permanent Me, on Saturday, April 29, in the Webster Underground.

THE EDWIN McCAIN BAND returns on May 4, TRACII GUNS TRIO (of LA Guns) will headline on May 8, YELLOWMAN returns on June 1, and a few months down the road the club will host THE JOSHUA TREE, a tribute to, who else?, U2, on July 7.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
