Occupation: As a Life Coach, I apply what I know first and foremost to my family and myself as a woman, artist, wife, mother, and grandmother. Sort of like the shoemaker making her own shoes first!

I have a doctorate in psychology, and my work is to help people discover what their life’s work is, and what brings them joy. Often these are one in the same.

I am also a writer, working on a book called How To Live In An Affluent Neighborhood On No Money.

How Long In Newtown: I moved here in 1969 with my daughter, Leah, who is now 36 and living in California with her family. When we first moved to town, the farmers were pretty annoyed that people like me and lots of airline pilots were moving in.

Biggest Change You Have Seen In Town: Taxes. C’mon! My daughter had to move to California to buy a house, and when I get old (in another 50 years) I won’t be able to afford living here.

Family: Last year I verified that we are related to John Howland, who came over on the Mayflower. We have an ancestor who was commissioned by George Washington. These ancestors are on my mother’s Boston “Blue Blood” side. On the “red-blooded side” –– which I strongly relate to –– my Dad was a first generation American of Hungarian descent.

My husband, Marcus, is a first generation American of Swiss descent.

My husband and I live with our son, Marcus Twain Schulz, 17. He is a bass player in a band called Analog Enemy. The band is an alternative rock band that plays original music. They have a CD online (broken-echo.net/analog/) and they are working on a second one.

Pets: We have a dog, a Yorkshire “terrorist” named Joshua, and two cats, Miss Oreo and Nobe Nobeo.

Hobbies: Genealogy, copper knocking, making labyrinths, beadwork, knitting, sewing quilts, cross stitch, oil painting, woodcarving, and gardening.

Favorite TV Show, Movie, Book: My favorite book is The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Right now, I’m exploring this book with three other local artists.

My favorite movies are the Star Wars series and Lord of the Rings.

Personal Philosophy: I believe that life is perfect in the here and now. The more I can be myself, the more open I am to that perfection. When we welcome change, we grow. I believe we all have numinous gifts that shine through us, sacred gifts that we owe it to the world to pass on. Besides, it’s fun.
