Marjorie M. Michalek

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother

Marjorie M. (Moran) Michalek, 76, of Stratford, beloved wife of Joseph F. Michalek, died May 8, in her home, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Bridgeport, August 23, 1931, to Eileen and Michael Moran.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by one sister, Joan Schneider and her husband, Ronald, of Newtown; one daughter, Sharleen Walton and her husband, John, of Shelton and their daughters, Heather and Kristen; three sons, Thomas Michalek and Kari Morse of Waterbury and his children, Matthew and Marissa, James Michalek and his wife, Clista “Kiki”, of Naugatuck and Richard Michalek of Galesferry; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Jack Moran, Ed Moran, and Don Moran.

Mrs Michalek graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1950. She had been employed at Singer Manufacturing Co. and Casco Products. She was a member of the Baldwin Center, the Parents Association of Southbury Training School, the Southeastern Connecticut Advocates for Developmental Disabilities, and St James Church.

The family would like to thank the caring and attentive nurses and staff at Hospice at Home and the Oncology Association of Bridgeport.

Mrs. Michalek was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a very close bond with her grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 13 in the Pistey Funeral Home, Stratford, and in St James Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment was in St Michael Garden Mausoleum.
