Flu Clinic On Saturday

The Visiting Nurse Association of Newtown will hold a flu clinic on Saturday, November 12, in the old court room on the lower level of Edmond Town Hall from 9 am until noon.

All Newtown residents are encouraged to get their flu shots for extra protection this season. The flu shots are for those who are 18 years of age or older.

Residents should not consider flu shots if they have had a reaction to a flu shot previously, if they are allergic to eggs, currently have an illness or fever, have Guillian-Barre syndrome, or are allergic to Benedryl.

Residents are encouraged to bring their insurance cards. Flu shots are free to those who have Medicare Part B or Anthem Blue Cross of Connecticut. A nominal fee of $15 will be charged for local residents, but the VNA policy is that no one will be refused a flu shot because of inability to pay. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt also is advisable.

The VNA is sponsoring this clinic in conjunction with the Newtown Health District and the Bethel VNA.
