Support The Post Prom Party

To the Editor:

The Newtown High School Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA) is in the initial stages of organizing a Post Prom Party to be held overnight on May 19 to May 20. The Post Prom Party will provide a safe drug- and alcohol-free environment for students during the late evening and early morning hours after the prom. In addition to offering a variety of entertainment options, attendees will have the opportunity to win prizes and receive giveaways during the event.

During the month of March, the PTSA will be requesting donations from local businesses and the families of the current high school juniors and seniors to support this event. We thank you, in advance, for your generous support.

As a parent of two Newtown High School students, I welcome the option of a safe alternative during the overnight after the prom.
