Alzheimer’s Support Programs At JCC

SOUTHBURY — Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut is sponsoring two Alzheimer’s support lectures for families and caregivers this summer.

Sponsored by Brownstein Jewish Family Service in conjunction with the Lutheran Home of Southbury’s “Scattering the Clouds” program, the presentations will address the needs of both the person affected by a memory related disorder and the impact on his or her family.

Linda LaBarge, special care coordinator at the Lutheran Home, will be the guest speaker for both programs. They take place at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.

On Monday, July 18, at 1 pm, “Coping with Memory Loss” will be presented. On Monday, August 1, at 1 pm, there will be a follow-up program on “The Impact of Memory Loss on Caregivers.”

Both programs are free and open to the public, but participants are asked to preregister by calling Debby Horowitz, Brownstein JFS program director, at 267-3177, extension 105.
