A Window Into Waldorf
A Window Into Waldorf
The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School will present âA Window into Waldorf: Educating through the Arts,â on Saturday, March 27, from 10 am to noon, in the auditorium at Newtown Middle School.
Grades 1 through 7 will present a selection of songs, poetry, instrumental music, and exercises from their current studies. Samples of studentsâ drawings, paintings and crafts projects will also be on display.
Founded in 1919, Waldorf education is a worldwide movement fostering academic excellence and creativity through âwhole-childâ learning. Its unique, arts-based developmental approach accommodates a range of teaching and learning modalities within a noncompetitive, supportive environment.
Two foreign languages are taught upwards of grade one, and all students learn the pentatonic flute, recorder, and string instruments through their grade school years.
The Waldorf curriculum incorporates drawing, painting, handcrafts, sculpting, drama, and more for students at all grade levels.
Reservations for the upcoming exhibit are recommended. To register or for more information call the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School at 364-1113 or visit www.WaldorfCT.org.
