The Flagpole Radio Café

To the Editor:

We all know Newtown is packed with talent, and finally there’s a place to witness it first hand. Upstairs in the Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall, I happened, by accident, on a terrific evening out. Twice!

Imagine, right here by our flagpole. Way better than a movie, this Flagpole Radio Café. It’s similar to Prairie Home Companion — only Newtown style. All local talent; great music; smart, incredibly witty spots. And it’s all live!

It’s put on by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, and at a whopping $10 a person; it was money well spent. Thanks so much whomever you are that’s bringing this to our community, and I urge all my neighbors to check it out. My only beef is that it starts a little early, 7 pm, so there’s slim chance of finding a Newtown eatery to stay open and serve afterwards!
