Book Group Forming For Everyone Concerned With Spiritual Matters

WASHINGTON — A new book group is organizing in Washington in which members will read and then discuss fiction or non-fiction books that deal with matters of the spirit. The group will meet in the parish house of First Congregational Church, at 6 Kirby Road.

Organizers plan to meet once a month on the third Wednesday evening for a potluck supper and discussion of a book, which will be decided at each month’s meeting for the next month.

The first meeting is planned of September 20. The featured book to discuss will be Why Christianity Must Change or Die by Episcopal bishop John Shelby Spong. The book is widely available at bookstores in paperback.
