Breast Cancer Treatment

BRIDGEPORT — St Vincent’s Medical Center is sponsoring a free talk open to the general public on “The Latest Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment” as part of its new Listen & Learn Lecture Series. The talk will take place on Thursday, September 21, from 4 to 5 pm, at St Catherine of Sienna Church in Trumbull.

Featured speaker oncologist Glen Reznikoff, MD, will discuss the most recent research findings on breast cancer and the most effective risk-detection, diagnosis and treatment strategies. Dr Reznikoff is on staff at St Vincent’s Medical Center, with practices in Bridgeport and Fairfield.

A question and answer session will be included following his talk, and light refreshments will be provided.

Listen & Learn is a free series of talks for the community by physicians on health and wellness topics in an effort to help area residents stay well. Participants learn from experts in the field about medical topics and prevention strategies, and how to sort through confusing consumer health information available to consumers. Topics cover a broad range of issues.

The program, a part of St Vincent’s mission of outreach to the community, is open to the general public, and will rotate sites for the talks among area towns. The lecture program is a collaboration of St Vincent’s Club 50 and its Physician Services.

St. Vincent’s Club 50 is a free club for people age 50 and over, designed to help people take an active role in keeping healthy through its free screenings and disease prevention programs, quarterly Healthtalk Newsletter, and discounts on hospital meals and parking. Members may also benefit from prescription and merchant discounts as well as on classes that range from exercise to computer to special interest.
