Woodbury Yoga Center Planning 20th Anniversary Celebratory Dinner & Silent Auction
WOODBURY â To celebrate its 20th anniversary Woodbury Yoga Center will host a gourmet vegetarian dinner on Saturday, November 13, at St Paulâs Episcopal Church. The church is at 294 Main Street South (Route 6) in Woodbury, at the intersection of Route 317. Cost is $35 per person, which includes the dinner, performances by local area musicians and a silent auction.
Among the items being offered through the auction will be antique furniture refinishing by Mark Bielusczyk, an antique amethyst bead necklace, handmade sterling silver jewelry by Jenna Thomma, an outfit from Greenhill in Washington (CT), Oriental Medical Health Evaluation or three months of tai chichi kung classes from Dr Kenneth Hoffman of Arcadia Health Center, a birdhouse and gift certificate from Lexington Gardens in Newtown, a gift basket and certificate from New Morning in Woodbury, ten passes to The TimeExpo Museum in Waterbury, various therapeutic massages offered by several licensed and experienced therapists, artwork by local artists, and much more. Â
Mark Bielusczyk, who has operated an antique furniture restoration business in Woodbury for 25 years, said: âWoodbury Yoga Center has helped to add balance and breath to my day.â Mr Bielusczuk is among those donating items to the silent auction.
âThe response we received from local business and community members in support of the center and the event has been truly inspiring,â said WCC co-founder and executive director Janaki Pierson. âFor the past 20 years we have tried encourage, nurture, and continue to foster that sense of community often times seems lost in todayâs fragmented society and when people come out to support you this way it makes you remember.â
Since the centerâs inception 20 years ago, as a not-for-profit education institution, Woodbury Yoga Centerâs faculty continues to focus solely on providing quality instruction in the traditional time-honored teachings of the science of mediation and yoga, setting itself apart from other for-profit businesses. Woodbury Yoga Centerâs purpose is to share this understanding and the benefits of these practices with its neighbors throughout the region.
Programs and courses are open to people of all backgrounds. The science of yoga supports the religious diversity of the community.
