Northeast Utilities Seeks Grant Applicants
BERLIN â Northeast Utilities (NU) this week announced that it is accepting request for funding through its Environmental Community Grant Program (ECGP). Selected nonprofit organizations that sponsor programs for activities fostering environmental awareness and habitat improvements will receive cash incentives ranging from $250 to $1,000.
ECGP awards will be announced in November. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, projects to protect or preserve the environment, projects providing education on environmental issues of local interest or organized cleanup projects that reclaim and rehabilitate damaged environments.
Grant applications must include an organizational goal, project description, projected budget, timeline, project personnel roster, equipment needed, and any additional related information. The grant application should be concise and must be received by October 15, the fall application deadline. Applications are available online at www.nu.com/environmental/grant.asp. Applicants should keep in mind that the ECGP grant, excluding any internal funding by the requesting organization, should fully fund the project. For application assistance, contact Christie Bradway at 860-665-5296 or 800-286-5000, extension 5296.
