Brookfield Congregational Is Planning

A Yankee Fair And English Tea Party

BROOKFIELD — The Congregational Church of Brookfield has announced its 32nd annual church fair will take place on Saturday, October 20, from 10 am to 3 pm. The theme this year is “An English Garden Tea Party.”

The “Barn Sale” is back and opens early at 9 am along with many collectibles that will be displayed in the barn for browsing pleasure. The fair will also include many handcrafted items that will be sold in Christmas, quilting, wood shop, garden and stitchery booths. Used books and toys are also included in the fair.

Visitors can enjoy a served lunch at the White Steeple Inn, or grab a hot dog or hamburger at the outside Grill.

Fresh Vermont cheese and delicious baked goods will be available for purchase, and children’s games, face painting, and much more will be offered.

Also included in this year’s fair will be a tea tasting, sconce contest, and a “Mad Hatter Tea Party” given every 45 minutes for the children, plus a “Brownie Sundae Ba” set up will be available for indulgence.

Inside the church, an exhibit of teapots, cups, and accessories including “holiday tea tables” will be presented.

Proceeds of the 2001 fair will be divided between two local charities and other church projects.

The church is at the junction of Routes 133 and 25. For more information call the church office at 775-1259, Monday through Friday between 9 am and 3 pm.
