Golf Team Drops Close Matches To New Milford And Pomperaug
Newtown High Schoolâs golf team dropped a pair of close matches at Rock Ridge Country Club this past week and fell to 2-3 overall.
In an April 11 match against New Milford, the Nighthawks shot a 178 and New Milford shot a 173.
Newtown was led by Brian LeBlanc, who shot a 40. Rob Marona and Vivek Tedla both shot a 44, and Chris Erikson shot a 50.
On Monday, Newtown shot a 175 and visiting Pomperaug of Southbury shot a 168. Newtown was led by Marona (42), LeBlanc (43), Tedla (44), and Erikson (46).
The Nighthawks next tee off when Bunnell of Stratford visits Rock Ridge for the first of three matches in as many days, on April 23. Immaculate of Danbury and Masuk of Monroe visit on April 24 and 25.
The Nighthawks, after facing Masuk in their fifth straight home match, will visit Stratford on April 30. The Hawks will return to Rock Ridge to face Joel Barlow of Redding on May 2.
