Denis O. Vanasse, 71, of Monroe, beloved husband of Elaine Gavitt Vanasse, died March 10 at St Vincentâs Medical Center. Mr Vanasse was born on December 26, 1934, in Burlington, Vt. and was the son of the late Ovila and Yvonne Salvas Vanasse.
Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife, include one son, Michael D. Vanasse of Newtown; one cherished grandson, Mason West; son-in-law Martin West; and several nieces and nephews. One beloved daughter, Michelle Vanasse, and two brothers, Albert and Wilford Vanasse, predeceased him.
Mr Vanasse was a quality control inspector for Lorad Co. He served with pride, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion of Monroe, past VFW member, and served as an Auxiliary Monroe Policeman.
Funeral services were held on March 13 in Notre Dame of Easton Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Stowe, Vt., in the spring.
