Intersection Collision

Motorist Jennifer Scarangella, 36, of 14 Poorhouse Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford Expedition, stopped for a red traffic signal at the intersection of Sugar Street, Main Street, Glover Avenue, and South Main Street about 2 pm October 5, police said. Motorist Mary H. Gaudet, 61, of 12 Whippoorwill Hill Road, who was driving a 1994 Saturn SL-2, stopped behind the Ford, police said.

The signal turned green and the Saturn moved forward, striking the rear end of the Ford, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Gaudet a written warning for following too closely.

Toddy Hill Deer

Motorist Linda Vibbert, 50, of Redding was driving a 1995 Ford Windstar northward on Toddy Hill Road about 4 pm October 3, when a deer entered the road, resulting in a collision, police said. Vibbert was not injured. There was no enforcement.

Buick Vs Nissan

Motorist Jennifer Orsi, 34, of Hamden, who was driving a 2002 Nissan X-Terra, was stopped for stopped traffic on southbound South Main Street at its intersection with Mile Hill Road at about 3 pm October 3, when the Nissan was struck from behind by a southbound 2002 Buick Rendezvous driven by Dana Kruzshak, 30, of 9 West Farm Ridge Road, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Kruzshak a written warning for following too closely.

Church Hill Accident

Police report a two-car accident on westbound Church Hill Road near the Shell gas station about 3:15 pm October 5.

Westbound motorist Brian Rockwood, 27, of Sturbridge, Mass., who was driving a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible, made a right turn toward the gas station from the left-turn-only lane there and collided with westbound motorist Kristin Laplant, 24, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla, police said.

Police issued Rockwood an infraction ticket on charges of making an improper right turn and illegally driving with an out-of-state driver’s license beyond 30 days of residency. Police issued Laplant a misdemeanor summons for driving without automotive insurance.
