HOM Students Storm Dickinson Park
Itâs the time during every school year when elementary students put away their books and remember what they really are: kids.
As field days took place throughout Newtownâs four elementary schools, Head Oâ Meadow students beat the heat late last week at Dickinson Park for an afternoon among friends.
As hotdogs cooked on open charcoal grills, students participated in numerous games.
The public tennis courts of the park provided an excellent venue for new racket enthusiasts, as singles and doubles games spread out across the court.
There were also three-legged and potato sack relay races across the parkâs softball field.
As Head Oâ Meadow school joined all Newtown public schools in closing its door to the 1999-2000 school year Wednesday, students frolicking at Dickinson late last week had a chance to simply cheer the coming summer.
