Magical Gymnasts

Lauren Sudbey and Emily Korth, seventh graders at the Newtown Middle School, competed in the recent Magical Classic Gymnastics Invitational at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The girls train at Olympia Gymnastics in Brookfield. In Orlando, Lauren finished first all-around (36.175) in her age division while taking third in the vault (9.0), first in the bars (9.1), first in the beam (9.125), and sixth in the floor exercises (8.95). Emily did not place, but performed well in the vault (7.9), bars (8.5), beam (8.55), floor exercises (8.8) and all-around (33.75).
